Game Ready
We all know how to treat a soft tissue injury, right? Everyone interested in sport knows the old acronym RICE - Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. A bag of frozen peas on your sprained ankle, while lying on the sofa with your foot up; and maybe put a Tubigrip on afterwards, for a bit of support.
But what if you could get that ice and compression right to the injury, at the same time? Game Ready uses NASA spacesuit technology to simultaneously deliver intermittent compression and adjustable cold therapy in an all-in-one, easy-to-use system. An anatomically-designed wrap surrounds the injured body part, and a control unit delivers adjustable compression and cold therapy to give you an effective, customised solution.
Used by top athletes including the New Zealand All Blacks, as well as England cricketer Andrew Flintoff, Game Ready equipment has consistently been shown to outperform standard forms of cold therapy. Patients who use Game Ready after surgery experience less swelling, heal more quickly and need less pain relief than those who use ice or other cold therapy delivery systems. Anecdotal evidence also suggests that it helps people with systemic illnesses such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Victory is one of only two centres in London to offer Game Ready equipment, both in the clinic and to hire for use at home.
