What is nutrition therapy?
Nutrition therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of optimal health and peak performance, disease prevention and patient care. There are many aims of an applied nutrition programme, a programme tailor made for the individual to help you achieve your health and fitness goals, including :
- To assess for any underlying medical conditions or concerns that may require additional support from your general practitional or medical consultant
- To assess for potential nutrient deficiencies, dietary imbalances and wholefood requirements in conjunction with your overall goals
- To provide a structured programme over a sensible time period, in which regular assessment and monitoring, as well as personal support and motivation is provided to help you achieve your goals

Who is Victory’s Nutritionist?
Dr Justin Roberts is an applied nutrition practioner and exercise physiologist, based at the University of Herfordshire as a Senior Lecturer/Researcher.
In addition to personalised health and sports nutrition programmes, Dr Roberts also operates a First Line Therapy practice, and incorporates principles of functional medicine designed to improve client health and well-being.
First Line Therapy is an effective, evidence-based lifestyle change programme designed to support underlying health through guided advice on healthy eating, nutritional supplementation, stress management and structured exercise. Whilst FLT can be challenging and often very different to current dietary practices, it has been shown to dramatically improve cardiovascular risk factors, body composition and general health.
