Maj (Retd) Nell Mead
“Nell offers a very professional and effective approach that is also delivered with warmth and charm. I would recommend anyone who hasn’t found a positive result elsewhere to book an appointment with her. She gets results.” - Fiona Seath, Manager, Back in Action Bristol

Nell has gone from being one of the leading physiotherapists in the British Army, to being the Clinical Director of Victory Health & Performance Ltd.
She worked for the Army for ten years, rising to the rank of Major. During this period, she received consistently outstanding feedback, with patients and line managers describing her as an exceptional clinician with a “peerless knowledge of physiotherapy”.
She has an extremely high reputation within the military, including testimonials from very senior officers within all three Armed Forces. From 2008-2010, she led the physiotherapy and rehabilitation team which provided a medical rehabilitation service to the British Forces contingent and their families in Cyprus. Her military experience was part of the reason she was asked to provide pitchside physiotherapy cover for the 2010/11 Sky Sports series “School of Hard Knocks” where she worked with rugby legends Will Greenwood, Scott Quinnell and Andy Gomarsall.
Nell is also a semi-professional tennis player. She was Army ladies’ tennis champion seven times and represented the Army and Combined Services for the past ten years. Sporting success has carried over into her physiotherapy career, in which she has worked regularly with professional sportspeople at the highest level - including England and Wales rugby players, the Cyprus Davis Cup tennis team and senior figures in the world of show jumping. She is also one of only 16 physiotherapists in England currently accredited in the Sarah Key Method of spinal assessment and treatment.
Nell believes in a hands-on approach to physiotherapy and says that her job involves a combination of listening to people, reassuring them and explaining the root causes of their injuries, and then working to release restrictions which prevent them from moving normally, because normal movement doesn’t hurt! She is also a firm believer in team work and using the right expert for each phase of recovery: once the patient is moving normally and out of pain, it becomes the rehabilitation therapist and personal trainer’s jobs to restore them to full fitness.
Nell’s client testimonials:
- Sarah Jordan
“I have used Nell on a number of occasions and have always been extremely pleased with her approach. She is very thorough when diagnosing any problem, and very professional in her treatment.
"Nell completely understands how important it is to resolve any problems quickly so I can get back playing sport.
"My first port of call when I have any injuries will always be Nell.”----------
- Allan Saul
“I have known Nell for about ten years through my affiliation with army tennis. Nell is a very competent and thorough physiotherapist, and I am sure this venture will be a huge success, as she gives 110%. The work I have seen Nell do, has been of a very high standard, as she is passionate about her work, which I can vouch for, as I have been treated by her. On court Nell is a fighter who lets nothing get by her, and enjoys the game tremendously.”

"I have been treated by numerous physiotherapists over the years, some very good and at the top of their game, but none can hold a candle to Nell; I believe she is the standard by which all other physiotherapists should be judged, and I am aware of other highly respected medical professionals who are of the same opinion."
----------
- Laura Flynn-Manners
"Nell Mead is not only a truly talented physiotherapist, she goes that extra mile to ensure her patients are also treated for the mental anguish of their injuries, researching injury specific literature to make each patient feels as though they are her only client."

- Lynn Thrussell
"For many years I have suffered with unbearable chronic neck and shoulder pains. During my late thirties I worked on a car production line and this caused repetitive aches, strains and pains which I had to endure daily to make a living. I saw many doctors and tried several physiotherapists who did not cure me: even the best of them could only relieve the pain for a very short time.
"In 2009 my husband was suffering with a type of heel pain called Plantar Fasciitis and was receiving cortisone injections until he visited Nell Mead. Nell quickly identified that the problem stemmed from wrong footwear and loss of muscle strength and flexibility. Within no time he was on a new programme of treatment and he quickly recovered.
"On my husband's advice, I booked an appointment with Nell, and from that first meeting I felt it was a new chapter in my life as Nell listened to my story and she was simply ‘hands on’ from day one. The level of service that Nell gave me including many short notice appointments clearly exemplifies Nell’s professionalism towards her vocation and more importantly her customers. I have no reservations in recommending anyone who has struggled like me to try her for yourself - that one consultation could be life changing."
