This week I’m very excited to be introducing a new physiotherapist to the Victory team – Lauren Taylor!
New Zealander Lauren decided she wanted to become a physiotherapist at the age of 13 when she tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her knee and needed a lot of rehabilitation, which gave her an insight into how physiotherapy works and how much enjoyment it’s possible to get from helping motivated people get better! It also gave her a really in-depth understanding of how it feels to have a nasty injury that prevents you from doing the things you love, and how to get motivated to work through it… oh, and a life-long interest in knee injuries! Fortunately, Lauren subsequently made a full recovery, and even represented New Zealand at football, as well as enjoying tennis and Latin dancing.
Lauren studied physiotherapy at the University of Otago, but since then, she has worked all over the world, in top clinics in Canada, New Zealand, Australia and the UK. She brings years of truly international experience to Victory, and we’re looking forward to picking her brains and learning the best of what each country has to offer. She recently married Julian, who persuaded her to move from Australia to his home in London, and is now getting settled in the capital.
Lauren’s especial interest, unsurprisingly, is knee injuries; but she is also a keen Pilates teacher (learned in Canada and Australia) so will be taking over our Pilates sessions – and also loves working with shoulder injuries. So if you’ve got a dodgy knee or shoulder, or need a stronger core, then why not give us a call on 0207 175 0150 and book an assessment with Lauren?
